Research, training and consultancy are pursued equally within the practice making for an unusually diverse and challenging workload.

Training relies heavily on group participation we encourage delegates of all levels of experience to discuss and challenge course material in a safe environment. Training courses are available on a variety of planning aspects especially up to the minute changes in planning regulations. Courses can alo be provided for specific needs or situations that your organisation and staff may be facing. This can be challenging and delegates can find the training hard work, but rewarding.

Our consultancy work includes community facilitation and public exhibitions where the depth of knowledge of Planning Cooperative is important. Equally important is the ability to present information and facts clearly to an audience which may include those unfamiliar with the planning system or hostile to proposals. Our skills and experience allow events like these to progress smoothly.

We are always striving to improve the practice of planning, welcoming research into new ideas and processes. Concept statements, originally researched and trialled for the Countryside Agency (now Natural England) are now being used by local authorities and developers.
